What we do
The Guild aims to provide its members with impartial information, training, networking opportunities and a forum for balanced debate.
It largely does this through the members only areas of its website, and by organising regular seminars and workshops, which often involve leading figures and experts from the health service and academic research.
The Guild also:
- Publishes a detailed membership directory which is free to all members - and which is an invaluable resource for editors
- Publishes a free quarterly newsletter, packed with useful resources and topical debate
- Provides free or discounted entry to seminars and workshops for members
- Holds informal receptions where Guild members and invited specialists have the opportunity to network
- Establishes links with other relevant organisations to further the aims of the Guild and help its members
- Holds awards to reward top quality health journalism
- Acts as an information resource
- Publicises job opportunities
The Guild is regularly asked to adjudicate on awards panels and to become involved in issues affecting the reporting of health matters and the dissemination of health information.
